On July 16, 1966, Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker formed the band Cream. They are widely regarded as one of the first great power trios and supergroups in rock music. Their music blended blues, psychedelic rock, and hard rock.

That's the Marquee. I think they only played twice there and I saw one of them. Previously I'd seen Jack and Ginger a few tinmes in my home town with Graham Bond. I hadn't noticed the 6 bass. Bruce's vocal had to be heard to be believed. I'd only seen Ginger on little pickup or travelling kits before this.
