The 60's turned out some outstanding folk singers. One of the best was Joan Baez.
Whether or not you agreed with her political beliefs, you had to love the voice.

Maybe it was the intensity of the 60's (Viet Nam War, the draft, civil rights, drugs, hippies) which gave the folk singers of that era a fervor I feel is not present in modern singers. I would enjoy reading comments from my fellow Boomers who lived through the 60's as well as the younger generation who have heard the music from the 60's and can compare it with the music of their generation.
