Talk about two contrasting styles. It is hard to imagine these two playing together.
Check out this all star lineup per the Youtube notes:
"Tenor giants John Coltrane and Stan Getz lead an incredible group through a tune claimed by both Thelonius Monk (Hackensack) and Coleman Hawkins (Rifftide). Oscar Peterson sits in on piano with the incomparable rhythm section of Paul Chambers (bass) and Jimmy Cobb (drums)."
One of the text comments says that this is the only instance that Getz and Coltrane recorded together. Getz is my favorite tenor player while Coltrane is my favorite soprano player. :bow
