OMG. I remember seeing Wayne Newton make his debut on Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour in the late 50's or early 60's. Wikipedia claims his audition for The Original Amateur Hour was unsuccessful, but I am certain I saw him on the show as I remember he sounded like a girl.
