From a group named LOVE and this track is on their debut album. Was a minor hit for them back then.
Song first caught my attention when I was a 7 year old child and I always liked it.
Song is actually a radical re-working of a Burt Bacharach-Hal David song.
Ahead of its time with this Punk Rock approach:

Remember it well, 1966 I was almost 16. They still play it often up here in Mendocino Co. on KOZT the Coast 95.3/95.9 There's a lot of old Santa Cruz hippies up...:D :rad How about San Jose' own Syndicate Of Sound? They use to play at my H.S. (Westmont)

Hell I'm running down to Paramount Imports and buying some patchouli oil and incense. Some new black light posters and a new bulb for my strobe light :smilewink

Syndicate Of Sound! I actually saw them reunited about 2 years ago here in San Jose for a San Jose Rock & Roll hall of fame induction! Still see the guitarist around at events I go to every once in a while.

songs that old should be addressed to "who is old enough to have forgotten this" :laughing
